Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and West Bengal Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Paul seems to have brushed aside the mega political development which unfolded within the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) parliamentary ranks on Sunday evening, saying that she is “not much bothered” by this change.
“We are not much bothered whether TMC MPs are going to this newly formed party, I’ve never heard it’s name, or they are joining some other party,” Paul said speaking to reporters on Monday.

The Bengal Minister however underlined that she is happy that they have finally “realised” their mistakes.
“But at least I’m happy that they have realised there were atrocities and they could not do much and there was corruption,” Paul said.
The Asansol Dakshin MLA expressed suspicion about the timing of this entire political development within the TMC camp.
“But I am pretty surprised that they realised it at this moment. 15 years they did not realise. Now they realised when the BJP has formed a new government under Suvendu Adhikari. So the timing is very surprising,” Paul said.
The TMP parliamentary camp underwent a tectonic shift on Sunday as 20 rebel MPs met Speaker Om Birla and made it public that they are joining the Nationalist Citizens Party of India, a party which has just risen into limelight with this announcement.
The NCPI issued a social media post soon after welcoming the dissident MPs into its fold declaring that they are the largest party in West Bengal which has the highest number of representation in the Parliament from West Bengal.
